Every year, we ask our users one question: What is it actually like to use Refapp in day to day work? With over 50,000 users worldwide, we gain valuable insights each year into how Refapp is used in practice.

This came up again and again throughout the survey.

Many users highlight how much time is saved, not just minutes here and there, but hours across an entire hiring process. A big part of that comes from not having to chase references by phone.

With Refapp, reference checks are completed digitally, making the process faster and more flexible for everyone involved. Hiring teams can move processes forward more efficiently, while references can respond when it suits them.

Less time spent on admin and chasing references creates more space for the parts of hiring that actually require human judgment.

More reliable and structured insights

Another important theme is the quality of the feedback itself.

Users highlight that structured, research based questionnaires lead to more consistent and reliable input compared to traditional, manual reference checks. Instead of relying on unstructured conversations, the feedback becomes easier to interpret, compare, and act on.

How user feedback shapes what we build

One of the more interesting things we noticed this year was that some users asked for features that are already available in Refapp.

Product development is an ongoing process for us. We continuously release improvements and new features, and a big part of that work is shaped by the feedback and requests we receive from our users through our support and Customer Success teams.

This is a good reminder that we need to become even better at both showing what the product can do and communicating updates in a way that makes new features easier to discover and actually use in day to day work.

To address this, we're currently developing in-product updates that will make new features and improvements more visible. The goal is to help users stay informed and get the most out of the platform without having to actively look for information elsewhere.
